We need to take action

Wetlands are super-powered solutions to the challenges our world faces. They’re a fantastic carbon store, but if they’re destroyed or degraded, they can have the opposite effect, and release carbon and other greenhouse gases back into the atmosphere.

We need to take action to protect these incredible habitats and support activities which build our wetland’s climate resilience.

Your donation today will contribute to projects that will create, restore and manage wetland habitats in local communities in the UK.

How your donation will make a difference

£10 could provide protective work gloves for our amazing staff and volunteers to carry out essential reserve management work.

£20 could support 2 metres of maintenance of our all-ability paths, ensuring access to nature for all on our reserves.

£75 could provide winter bird food to feed our wild birds on all our reserves for a day.

Big Give's Green Match Fund

We're part of Big Give's Green Match Fund, where you can double your donation to help us to save our wetlands and the wildlife you love.

From 22-29 April, any donations you make via the Big Give website will be matched. So, every £1 you donate becomes £2. You’ll be doubling your impact without any additional cost to you.

What is Big Give?

Big Give is the UK’s leading match fundraising charity and has raised over £1bn for good causes in the last decade.

What is match funding?

When you donate to WWT through our Big Give fundraising page, your donation will be matched by The Big Give Trust. So, for example, a £20 donation will become a £40 donation.

Who matches the donation?

Your donation will be matched by The Big Give Trust.

How does matching work when I make a donation?

You will be told if matching funds are available or not when you donate. When donating, match funds are reserved for 30 minutes to complete the donation. All donations are matched in real-time, and you can see how much match funding has been allocated to your donation.

When can I donate?

For your donation to be doubled you must donate via our Big Give page between 22nd April and 12pm 29th April. However, if you’d like to donate after this time you will be able to donate via this page.

Will every donation be matched?

Donations will be doubled up to maximum of £10,000 (total pot of £20,000). If we reach that total, every gift will still make a vital difference in our work to restore wetlands and unlock their power.

Will Gift Aid be matched?

No, only your donation will be matched.

What will my donation fund?

Donations raised will go to our general work to support wetlands, including our Climate Resilience Fund, which funds climate-friendly work at our ten sites around the UK.
