Water rail
In the podcast, Jamie describes the water rail, a shy bird which becomes easier to see in autumn and winter at London Wetland Centre.
It is a relative of the coot and moorhen - and can be seen dashing between clumps of reeds.

This year, these large raptors have also made a number of appearances at London Wetland Centre, stopping off during their migration.
Marsh harriers rely on wetlands for hunting, feeding and roosting.
