Did you know that reindeer love to eat goose poo? I’m sure that’ll be enough incentive for Rudolph to take a detour and bring Santa here for a visit! Santa will arriving on Sundays throughout December (until Christmas of course!) at 2.45pm to feed all our birds – and would love some children to come along and help him! Find out more about feeding the birds. This is a magical experience for young children and not to be missed!

Build a nest box

If you enjoy making things you’ll also like our robin nest box workshops on Sunday 16 and Sunday 23 December. Everyone who makes a nest box will also receive a voucher to make a free nesting stocking (normally £1 each) – to give your robins a head start!

These nest boxes make the perfect Christmas present for someone who loves wildlife and their garden!  These workshops are most suitable for adults and older children. Children aged 5+ will be able to make a box as long as they have an adult to help them!

There will be activities and all day family fun on weekends throughout December and during the Christmas holidays, including snow goose walks and feeds and guided bird watching sessions from our luxurious heated viewing tower!

Craft workshops for children will also run throughout the day making Christmas table lanterns, pom pom robins, children’s wreaths, Christmas nesting stockings for birds and more! Small charges apply to cover the cost of materials.

Walk off the Christmas calories!

Also look out for our Arctic wetland craft specials, and our willow sculpture workshops for children on Friday 28 December and Friday 4 January – only £1 to take part!

Remember the centre will only be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so why not join us, walk off that Christmas dinner and perhaps even see a snow goose in the snow?
