How has the bird fair gone?

We are now well into the second day of the North West Bird Watching Festival. We had 1300 people come through the doors yesterday ane we are already up to 800 today so I am really pleased with the weekend - it is a shame that it rained this morning, but the sun is shining now so we should have a good afternoon.

Most of the workshops have been fully booked and I even popped along to a ringing demonstration yesterday and I got to see a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. In terms of the ringing we have the following figures from yesterday:

Goldcrest          3 Wren               1
Blue Tit            13
Chaffinch          13
Tree Sparrow    4
Robin               6
Coal Tit             1
Great Tit           6
Brambling         1
Dunnock           1
Greenfinch        23
Blackbird          6
Great Spotted Woodpecker   1
Woodpigeon     1
Magpie             1
Thank you to everyone who has come out to support the event, we do enjoy this event and everyone seems to enjoy it.
