12noon - Visit one or more of the hides in the grounds via the exciting boardwalk through some of the largest reed-beds in Sussex. If you have time, take a free Boat Safari around the new Wetlands Discovery waterways and get really close to wetlands wildlife & habitats. Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to visit?
Arundel Wetland Centre is a beautiful place to visit all year round with the landscape and wildlife changing constantly with the seasons. Spring is perfect for wild flowers and songbirds. In the summer you can relax outside with a picnic and enjoy the sound of song birds, crickets and warblers. Autumn is great for seeing rare birds passing through on migration and winter is the best time to observe the flocks of wild duck or catch sight of an elusive Water Rail (a regular visitor over many winters).
Why not combine your visit with one of our special events including summer BBQs and late night opening, theatre evenings or twilight bat walks (additional charges apply).
What should we wear?
The centre has tarmac/firm level paths throughout and so any comfortable shoes will suffice. It is worth bringing an umbrella or waterproof if rain is forecast, as the reserve covers more than 26 hectares and it can take a few minutes to reach shelter.
When should we pay?
Please pay at the admissions desk on the day of your visit.
Some of our group can't walk far, is it still suitable?
Yes, there is plenty to see and do in our visitor centre, with excellent, level access for wheelchair users around the reserve.
How about eating & drinking?
The Water’s Edge Restaurant serves an extensive selection of hot & cold dishes, vegetarian specialities, snacks for all tastes and delicious afternoon teas. All hot beverages are Fair Trade sourced. The restaurant is licensed and so you will be able to enjoy a glass of wine with your meal. In the warmer months groups can also bring picnics to enjoy in the picnic areas around the reserve.
