Wildlife sightings

Dramatic changes occur during September and October. At the beginning of this period we have small numbers of ducks and geese, by the end we can have over 20,000 Pink-footed Geese alone. All the wildfowl numbers will increase as cold weather moves them from their breeding grounds. Migration is in full flow during these month with waders and passerines using the reserve as an essential stopping off point on there journey south. Raptors will take full advantage of the increasing numbers. A classic time of year to produce something unusual.
