New members

I recently joined but haven’t received my cards yet. Can I still visit?

Yes, we’d love to see you at our sites. Whilst you wait for your membership card to arrive, simply turn up at our site on the day and please bring along your welcome confirmation email. Please contact us if you have any questions about your new membership.

Can I edit my membership order?

Unfortunately, you are unable to edit your membership order after it has been submitted. However, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help.

When will I be charged for my new membership?

We will claim your Direct Debit either on or around 1st or 15th of each month. This means that sometimes your first payment may include more than one month’s payment and be on a different day to your regular payment. You will receive a Direct Debit confirmation letter in the post from us after you’ve joined which will confirm the amount and date of each instalment.

How can I change or add someone to my membership?

If you would like to make a change to your membership, please contact us. If you have a joint membership, the person who pays for the membership will need to contact us directly.

How can I renew my membership?

Thank you so much for your continued support. If you’ve recently received a renewal letter or email from us, you can now renew your membership. Alternatively, complete the form on your renewal letter and post it back to us.

I’ve moved house - how can I update my address?

If you have moved house, please contact us and we will update this for you. Please include your name, membership number (if known), previous address and new address in your email to help us find you.

How do I update my email address?

How can I top up my membership?

Thank you so much for your amazing support. If you’ve recently received a renewal letter or email from us, you can top up when you renew your membership. Alternatively, please contact us.

Payments and billing

What date will my Direct Debit be charged from my account?

We will claim your Direct Debit either on or around 1st or 15th of each month. If 1st or 15th fall on a weekend or bank holiday, we will claim your membership just after.

Who should I make my cheque payable to?

Please make your cheque payable to WWT.

Payment options

1. By monthly or annual Direct Debit - paying by monthly Direct Debit costs the same as paying in one go, but the cost is split over 12 months. It reduces our admin costs, meaning your support will go that bit further.

If you would like to change how you pay for your membership, you can do this when you renew your membership on our website or please get in touch.

Why is it helpful to pay by Direct Debit?

Paying by monthly Direct Debit not only means smaller outgoings for you, but it also helps wetland wildlife too, by lowering our admin costs. That’s great news as it means more can go towards vital conservation.

Does my membership automatically renew?

If you pay monthly or annually by Direct Debit, your membership will automatically be renewed each year and we will contact you to let you know just before your renewal date. If you pay by debit/credit card or cheque, we will send you a renewal reminder before your renewal date.

How can I update my payment details?

To update your payment details, please get in touch. If you have a joint membership, the person who pays for the membership will need to contact us directly.

Gift Aid

Can I Gift Aid my membership?

To be eligible for Gift Aid, you need to be the person purchasing the membership and a UK tax payer. If you are joining as a family, both adult members must live at the same address if you choose to Gift Aid your membership. We are unable to claim Gift Aid on gift memberships. How can I cancel my Gift Aid?

Please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help if you wish to cancel your Gift Aid declaration. Your Gift Aid will be cancelled from the day you notify us. Find out more information about Gift Aid.

Membership card

I haven’t received my new membership card

At WWT, we are committed to reducing our impact and working towards more sustainable alternatives. We are currently reviewing how we issue membership cards. For now, rather than sending you a new membership card every year, we only replace cards if they’re lost or if you change membership category. If you need a new membership card, please contact us.

We’re sorry to hear that. Please get in touch and we’ll happily arrange to send you a new one.
