People's Postcode Lottery
Over £5.9 million raised for wetlands
Funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery are integral to supporting our mission to restore wetlands and unlock their superpowers.
Since 2015, players have raised over £5.9million in support of our work; from looking after the wetland wildlife we love, to bringing people closer to wetlands at our sites, to building advocates in our supporters, staff, and volunteers.

10 years of WWT Steart Marshes
WWT Steart Marshes is a sanctuary for wildlife and plant species on the Severn Estuary.
Formerly farmland at risk of serious flooding, the site has been transformed into a mosaic of freshwater, brackish and saltmarsh habitat which acts as a buffer against storm surges.
Player support contributes to the ongoing management of this wondrous nature reserve.
Expanding the flock worldwide
We’ve taken our work international, setting up hubs in Cambodia and Madagascar where wetlands are depended on by communities and wildlife.
As our international work continues to grow, player support is helping us to improve support and systems for in-country teams, boosting communications and effectiveness.
Speaking up for wetlands
We're working to build a movement of people who can take action for wetlands.
Player support contributes to developing important campaigns, like Wetlands Can!, where we asked supporters to join us in standing up and making a noise for wetlands on a public stage.
Words for Wetlands
How do you feel when you spend time in wetlands? This is the question we put to our visitors, asking them to describe their experiences at one of our centres.
What followed was an explosion of thoughts, feelings, and observations: from the gentle rustle of reeds to noticing the calm that descended after some time in the hides.
Player support means we can start conversations like these with our visitors, so they can take the first step to building a relationship with wetlands.
Supporting our volunteers
Our mission to restore wetlands and unlock their power is supported by our fantastic volunteers who give up their time to support WWT’s work for people and nature.
Volunteering at WWT sites can be a lifeline for some, like Dereck Wood – he started volunteering at WWT Slimbridge in 2017, after recovering from multiple surgeries following an aneurysm and a stroke.
Player support helps us co-ordinate volunteer activities, creating a rewarding and fulfilling experience for both our volunteers and visitors.
Thank you to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for their continued support that helps us to protect wetlands for wildlife and people.
