101 Bewick's Swans

No dalmatians, just the 101 Bewick's Swans here today

Rushy Hide/Peng Observatory

With further arrivals we now have at least 101 Bewick's Swans on site this morning, majority have been on the the Rushy.

Estuary Tower

At least 4 adult Dark-bellied Brent with the Barnacle Goose flock on Dumbles saltmarsh + Ross' Goose and Snow x Bar-headed Goose, Grey Plover calling among the Lapwing/Golden Plover flock and a Peregrine this morning, several passes by Marsh Harrier and this afternoon a Little Stint with the Dunlin/Lapwing flock, feeding in the saltmarsh puddles beyond the Dumbles scrape + Raven, Peregrine, one Dark-bellied Brent Goose on the Dumbles with the goose flock + pair of Stonechat on Middle Point fence. At least 122 Russian White-fronted and three Greenland White-fronted Geese were feeding in the Ox Piece + the Barnacle x Greylag Goose.


Tack Piece

12+ Ruff, 100+ Black-tailed Gdowit, 15+ Redshank, 2+ Snipe, 40+ Dunlin, 80+ Curlew, 360+ Teal, 600 Wigeon, 40 Pintail, 30 Shoveler, 12 Pochard, 16 Tufted Duck, Piece Wagtail + Marsh Harrier among the birds seen this morning + Chiffchaff near to Robbie Garnett Hide and 2 Cetti's Warbler at Martin Smith Hide. Two Marsh Harrier and two Buzzard + Sparrowhawk this afternoon.

Grounds

At least 6 Siskin with Chaffinches and Goldfinches in Alder trees by the Back from the Brink/Mission Possible exhibits. Song Thrush singing from the overflow car park hedges.

Top New Piece

The immature Spoonbill roosted but headed out to the estuary early morning, varying numbers of waders and wildfowl due to raptor attention, Cetti's Warbler calling in reeds below Zeiss Hide.

Egret Roosts

10 Cattle and a Great White Egret roosted in the Long Ground Pool willows, one Little Egret in the Duck Decoy, two Little and a Cattle Egret were seen on South Lake but they appear to have gone out to feed in nearby fields.

Kingfisher Hide

The Bottom New Piece is very busy, Canada Goose flock + 100s Golden Plover, Lapwing, Dunlin, a few Ruff + flocks of Teal and Wigeon. Ox Piece- The Russian White-fronted Goose flock is feeding in here, best viewed from Estuary Tower.
