It was quite a blustery day with a fair few waders around and a Spoonbill joining us on the Top New Piece.


Car park

The car park had 5 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Cetti warbler, and 2 Great spotted woodpecker.

Rushy Lake

Out on the Rushy, there were 5 Gadwall, 8 Shoveler, 27 Teal, 1 Pochard, 3 Snipe, 1 Kingfisher and a Wigeon too.

Tack Piece

On the Tack piece from Robbie Garnet Hide, there were 17 Shoveler, and 2 Green Sandpiper.

Then along the Estuary walkway one Willow warbler and on through the Summer Walkway the dark crowned Marsh Harrier made a fly by.

Middle Point

First thing this morning, there was a Wheatear out on the Estuary mud, as well as 49 Curlew, 24 Shelduck, 5 Greenshank, 1 Peregrine, and 2 Common Gull.

Decoy Hide

On the main pond visible from the Decoy Hide there were 2 Shoveler, 5 Coot, 6 Gadwall, 3 Mallard, and 5 Tufted duck.

South Lake

Throughout the day Evie the crane was around as well as Black-tailed godwit, Lapwing, Redshank, Ruff, Avocet, Green sandpiper, Spotted Redshank, Snipe, and a juvenile Peregrine terrorised the waders on the lake late afternoon.

Zeiss Hide

Cranes Oakie, Sherbet, and their juvenile were on the Top New Piece alongside 104 Barnacle Geese, 1 Spoonbill, 1 Grey heron, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Redshank, 1 Ruff, 3 Curlew, 29 Lapwing, 2 Mute swan, 3 Ringed plover and a mixed flock of feeding Shoveler, Teal, Gadwall and Mallard.

Kingfisher Hide

From the Kingfisher Hide there were 25 Gadwall, 2 Mute swan, 1 Moorhen feeding a chick, 1 Kestrel over the Bottom New Piece, a fly by Cormorant, and a large mixed group of hirundine flying low over the field too.
