Rushy Hide & Peng Observatory
A count of 111 Bewick's Swans this morning, with many birds already heading out on the fields to graze, including a family with 3 cygnets on the Tack Piece. Most of the swans are currently heading for The Dumbles, but we're also seeing a pair landing in the Tundra Pen (next to the Eiders) in the Living Collection area. So check for wild swans everywhere!
A flock of around 200 Lapwing and a single Redshank were feeding on the muddy margins of the pool along with over 500 Teal towards the back of the pool.

Holden Tower
There was no sign of the Brent Goose this morning with the Barnacle flock. Around 400 Wigeon were on the scrape along with a pair of Shoveler and a pair of Shelduck. Its worth checking the Long Ground Pool to the left of the hide back inside the perimeter fence, there is a nice selection of duck to be seen including Pochard, Teal, Wigeon, Tufted Duck, Pintail and the ever present Mallard.
A pair of Water Rail were calling from the reedbed and a pair Reed Bunting were feeding in front of the hide along with a selection of Great Tit, Chaffinch and Robin.

Kingfisher Hide
At least 11 Ruff were present this morning along with 250 Dunlin, 200 Wigeon, 500 Lapwing and 4 Curlew. Along the walkway were a Treecreeper and at least 2 Goldcrest.

Zeiss Hide
A great number of birds present this morning including at least 4000 Wigeon, 1000 Teal and 800 Lapwing with good numbers of Pintail, Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin and Shoveler mixed in. A Cetti's Warbler was calling from the reedbed.

South Lake Hides
A flock of 400 Lapwing were present this morning along with 4 Black-tailed Godwit. On the deep lake were 30 Pochard, 40 Shoveler and a Great Crested Grebe.
