Warblers everywhere

Willow and Knott Hide/Holden Tower bushes, hedge and scrub

Very busy with warblers again today, 20+ Blackcap forming the bulk but 5+ Chiffchaff, 3+ Willow Warbler (inc a singing bird), 2+ Garden Warbler, 2+ Lesser Whitethroat, 3+ Common Whitethroat (pictured above) and Reed Warbler.

Rushy Hide

Work begins on the seasonal cutting today and will continue through the week. We will be opening up areas post breeding season for the autumn passage period and preparations for the winter visitors. This management work ensures we get a huge variety of birds through the seasons and keeps the view views open.

Three Green Sandpiper, 3 Snipe and Garganey present early morning but the latter left with the Teal flock when the contractors arrived to work on the Scott House.

20+ Yellow Wagtail amongst the cattle herd, 20+ Curlew and 350+ Greylag on the Dumbles.

South Lake

Spotted Redshank, 28 Redshank, 23 Ruff, 89 Black-tailed Godwit, Kingfisher.

Zeiss Hide

2 Garganey, 6 Pintail, 7 Wigeon, 270 Teal, 30 Gadwall, 20 Shoveler, 3 Avocet and 18 Lapwing.
