A bird that loves the wet weather
Below is some video footage Andy Bunting from in focus took yesterday of common snipe feeding. This bird loves wet weather and we have seen a big influx of over 140 birds. They can be viewed on the edge of the mere delving for worms and grubs. They have a fantastically long bill that allows them to hunt for food in the mud.
