Astronomy Evening at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre
Take a ‘Tour of the Universe’ as part of a special Astronomy Evening at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre this month.
WWT Martin Mere is working with the Liverpool Astronomical Society to offer a one-time special astronomy evening on 28 October.
The event will start at 7:15pm and finish at 9:30pm, with telescopes available for visitors to discover the wonders of the solar system and beyond as well as a series of special talks. Experts from the Liverpool Astronomical Society will give two talks about ‘The Autumn and Winter Night Sky’ and ‘A Stars Life'.
Nick Brooks, Centre Manager at Martin Mere, said: "We're excited to be hosting this one-time astronomy evening at Martin Mere. With no artificial light around us, it's the perfect place to get a fantastic view of the night sky. We'll also see a partial lunar eclipse on the 28 October - making this night even more special!"
A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Full Moon, but they are not precisely aligned. Only part of the Moon's visible surface moves into the dark part of the Earth's shadow.
The event is £10 per person and places must be pre-booked via our website.
