Rushy Pen Hide/Peng Observatory

Although we still have a few things to finish in the Rushy and at the duckery, the island work has been completed, the water levels on top lake are back up and the Peng Observatory is open again. Late in the month we will start to feed the lake, it takes a few weeks to get the birds calmed and for numbers to increase. We should be ready to start commentated feeds in November.

Two Little Grebe, 13 Pintail, 76 Teal, 223 Mallard, 11 Coot, 6 Moorhen,  4 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Redshank, 4 Shelduck, 46 Tufted Duck and 4 Pochard were all seen this morning.

Martin Smith and Robbei Garnett Hides

A flock of Teal was roosting and feeding here today, Green Sandpiper at the latter hide all day.

Holden Tower

Very high tides over next few days, it could fill up the pools.

Up to 28 European White-fronted Geese on the Dumbles, Peregrine over high tide with 750+ Wigeon feeding on the estuary over the tide. 96 Shelduck and 24 Curlew were on the edge of the Dumbles.

A Chiffchaff, 10 Reed Bunting, Robin, 4 Blackbird and 3 Chaffinch in the bushes early morning.

Zeiss Hide/Top and Bottom New Piece (TNP and BNP)

209 Lapwing on TNP and 132 on BNP, 7 Ruff, 30 Snipe and 3 Redshank. 27 Shelduck, 440 Teal on TNP and 28 on BNP. The estuary Wigeon flock were grazing in BNP late afternoon.

South Lake

69 Tufted Ducks, 1 Pochard, 57 Shoveler, 62 Mallard, 125 Greylag Geese, 19 Gadwall, 4 Cormorant, 6 Coot, 203 Teal, 3 Pied Wagtail, 7 Moorhen, 5 Shelduck, 122 Black-tailed Godwit (200+ late afternoon), 2 Ruff and 56 Lapwing.

No sign of yesterday's CATTLE EGRET
