Avocet Heaven

Rushy

Some great birding here this morning, five 1st summer Med Gulls and one adult. The Little Gull was also present here along with a redshank also being present. 12 Avocets were here, with 4 little chicks also running around.

Robbie Garnett

This morning a lapwing and a brood of 3 chicks was seen here close to the hide.

Holden Tower and the Summer Walkway

A peregrine was seen here this morning, along with 2 Wheatears along the summer walkway.

South Lake

South lake has really come alive recently with lots of nesting avocets and eggs starting to hatch out. 23 avocets were present along with lots of broods of 2, and 5 other birds still incubating eggs. Black-tailed Godwits can also been seen, 18 were present, many of which are now in their breeding plumage. Oystercatchers and lapwings have also been a recent feature here. There is also a crane pair who are currently incubating two eggs on one of the smaller islands.

Zeiss Hide

Again both Avocets and Black-tailed Godwits are a feature here and certainly worth going and taking a look at. 3 cranes were also present this morning, so keep an eye out for them throughout the day.
