Barn Owls
Apart from a brief unsettled spell of wet and windy weather at the start of June it been pretty much perfect conditions for the reserves three breeding pairs of Barn Owl. Between them they have 8 huge chicks which should make it through to fledging very soon, as this picture shows!
As we move into autumn, with earlier nights, the reserve is an excellent site to see these birds hunting.
