Butterflies, Barnacles & Pink-feet

The sun is shining and it is very warm on the reserve. It certainly feels like summer, with lots of butterflies now flying. Our first Orange-tip Butterflies were seen yesterday.

Despite the summer-like weather there are still geese around. 1500 Barnacle Geese and 168 Pink-footed Geese in the Corner Field this morning.

Blackcaps, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff are all singing away in the Avenues, House Martins are nest building around the Farmhouse Tower and a large flock of Golden Plover are in the Lochar Field viewed from the Avenue Tower.
