Brood of Shovelers

Zeiss Hide

Great to see a brood of 5 well grown young Shoveler this morning along the back edge of the scrape, also a Little Ringed Plover 2 Redshank, 11 Black tailed Godwits and 2 Oystercatchers. There were 2 Green Sandpipers distantly in the Bottom New Piece and a Common Gull on the islands was a first for a while, many more will appear in the next few weeks.

South Lake

Probably the best birding from here, 94 still very colorful adult Black Tailed Godwit and 40 Redshank. Still 3 Avocet incubating but no sign of any young from earlier broods. The Little Ringed Plovers have moved here from the Rushy with 4 this morning.

Holden Tower and Hides along walkway.

A total of 10 Green Sandpipers moving around the scrapes, 2 Greenshank were on the Holden flash, a few Gulls on the Dumbles but no sign of yesterdays Yellow Legged Gull try again around high tide at 12.00.

Rushy

Only one pair of Avocets today and 2 Green Sandpipers.
