Busy Woodloop feeders a sign of spring

The bird feeders in the Woodland Loop have been getting busier as more songbirds arrive. The pair of kingfishers are still on the nesting bank on the Arun Riverlife lagoon. Lapwing sightings are increasing on the wet grassland -this photo from volunteer Andy Burns.

Lapwing hide: a pair of lapwing, female looks to be nest sitting

Ramsar hide: 2 pheasants, 3 lapwing, 14 Canada geese, 2 greylag geese, 2 shelducks, 2 pochard, 1 shoveler duck, 4 tufted ducks, 1 kingfisher, 3 coots, 3 moorhens, 11 mallards, 148 black-headed gulls, 163 common gulls, 10 Mediterranean gulls, 3 buzzards overhead, 1 red kite.
