Bird News
A calm day, mostly overcast. Good numbers of Teal and Wigeon around the reserve, small numbers of Gadwall, Shoveler, Pochard and Tufted Duck. At least 600 Whooper Swan late afternoon as birds arrive from feeding in local fields. Raptors included 3 Peregri

Bittern at dusk.
Whilst watching the 100 or so Pied wagtails coming into roost in the reedbed at 16.15 last night, a Bittern flew up from the back of the lost reedbed (Scrape hide), landing amongst the wagtail roost in the centre of the main reedbed from the reedbed hide.
