Water Shrew seen on safari

Latest Sighting
Sunday started off bright and a little overcast followed by light rain in the afternoon. The Little Stint was present at the back of Sunley's early and then again from around 4pm. At least 8 Dunlin present, 800+ Black-tailed Godwit, 500+ Lapwing, 3 Green

Reserve Update Sunday 6th August
Avenue Tower is the place to be this morning with a multitude of young birds present in the hawthorn tree at the entrance and also within the cover crop. The goldfinches are still yammering for their parents to feed them while a solitary juvenile spot

After a short downpour this morning the reserve is currently bathed in sunshine, but thunderstorms are forecast later. Fingers crossed the bands of weather will drop in some new arrivals for us. South Lake Hides Again, most of the reserve action is here

Latest Sightings - 5th August - Bankend Bridge update
We have been told that the contractors working on the B725 at Bankend are behind schedule. The bridge is open this weekend, but will be CLOSED from Monday 7th until Friday 11th, day and night. Please use the diversion via Dumfries. It's a bright & sun

Lazy update
Basically all the birds seen yesterday have been seen again today! So the Wood Sandpiper is still performing well from the Ron Barker Hide, Hobby seen in the afternoon etc. A Roe Deer was seen from the United Utilities Hide this afternoon. See yesterday/p
