Bird News
Mediterranean Gulls are among the 'star birds' on the reserve at the moment, with at least 5 on the Mere today. There have been at least 13 individually identifiable birds here in the last couple of weeks, and with the Black-headed Gulls at last starting

The first three Long-horn calves of the season has been born at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre, helping the Centre to traditionally manage the reserve. The calves, born from the 26 March, along with all the adults can be viewed from the Ron Barker hide. T

Latest Sightings - 7th April - summer migrants singing
Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler are in good voice this morning along the Avenues. We expect to see a Swallow any day now, and it's always worth scanning the merse for a glimpse of Osprey perched on driftwood or fishing over the high tide. Our Osprey nest is

Sunny Spoonbills
We've had another two Spoonbills arrive on the reserve, dropping in late yesterday to the Top New Piece, as viewed from the Zeiss Hide. The birds were still present this morning before moving to the South Lake around 8:20am, best viewed from the Hogarth
