Thick fog prevented viewing first thing this morning fortunately it did clear enough to allow bird watching by 0930am but descended once again late afternoon. It was great to see the waders returning after the repeatedly cold, frosty days last week. Wade

Again poor visibility due to mist early on, but plenty of geese (mostly Barnacles but with a few Pinkfeet dotted in) as it clears. The Black-tailed Godwits remain on Folly Pond, as does the Green-winged Teal, but yet to locate the American Wigeon among it

Despite a very foggy day a few birds were reported, an adult Mediterranean Gull spent some time on the Mere in the morning. Other sightings included the pair of Tawny Owls near Kingfisher Hide. One of the Water Rails was showing very well from Ron Barker
