Blustery start to the morning with the promise that the weather might blow in some passage waders. Three Greenshank dropped in briefly yesterday afternoon to Folly Pond but these appear to have moved on. The five Swallow chicks in the Teal Pond hide a

Bird News
Few reports today, but from the Ron Barker hide , 2 Marsh Harriers, a Greenshank, at least 4 Green Sandpipers, 2 Kingfishers and a Sparrowhawk. Also good numbers of Ruff, Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit and Snipe, although no actual counts received.

Bittern on the Wild safari
Rushy Hide Little ringed Plover, 8 Green Sandpiper, 3 Ruff (1 adult), 3 Snipe and 4 Avocet on the lower pond. The juvenile Marsh Harrier rested on the willows for a time this morning. Tack Piece 15 Teal, 31 Black-headed Gull and 43 Greylag this morning.

Recent sightings (11-14th August)
Male Blackcap c. Russ Myners British Steel Hide The spectacular big spring tides over the last few days have pushed well over a thousand birds off the estuary and onto the banks around the saline lagoons, to roost away from sources of human disturbance.
