Its only ten days to go until the 40th Anniversary of WWT Martin Mere. Today's fun fact of the day is: Black winged stilts arrived at WWT Martin Mere in June 2006 and nested. Previously they were last seen in Lancashire in 1928.

Holden Tower Ferruginous Duck female was on the pool immediately E of the tower. It often hides in the reeds or under the willows. It was reported here yesterday and has probably been visiting this pond from before the weekend. This is where the Ferrugin
