The reserve is alive with chicks
At WWT Martin Mere the site is alive with activity. From the discovery hide sit and watch the antics of the black-headed gulls. We have 951 pairs this year which is a new site record, they nest right in front of the hide, and binoculars aren’t needed.

White stork chicks hatch at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre
Two white stork chicks have hatched at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre for the first time. The chicks hatched at the end of May and can be seen sat underneath mum to the right of the stork lodge in the Eco-garden. Centre Manager, Nick Brooks, said:
