No sign of the male garganey so far today.  Greeted by the unusual sight first thing this morning of a tawny owl perched on the railings in the car park.  It has now flown off to seek better cover in the surrounding trees. Today's high tide is at 19:27

Visitors were treated to tremendous views of two tawny owlets yesterday afternoon from the Peter Scott Trail.  No sign of the them yet this morning. The first cuckoo of the year was heard on neighbouring land.  Listen out for it when on the summer walk

The Tawny owlet has ventured out of the box and is perched in a nearby tree. This is common behaviour called 'branching' as they start to gain more independence. You can see it from the Peter Scott Observatory looking left.

The summer walk is now open, with access to the meadow from The Avenue only. Very wet first thing today but improving now. Only about 100 Barnacles remained yesterday, as should be expected, but still good nos of eg Golden Plovers, along with a few Black-

Barnacles appear to have fled the site, as would be expected, with just 22 visible on the morning count. A Greenshank dropped onto the Folly Pond earlier and there are a few Black-tailed Godwits on the Flood Ground. Northern Wheatears and White Wagtails c
