Wildlife Sightings for 7th January 2024

2 Shelduck, Bearded Tit, 2 Bittern, 15 Siskin and 2 Stonechat recorded today

Bittern on the reservoir lagoon. Redshank later on over the wader scrape

Goldeneye wintering on the main lake

5 January 2024

Water Pipit and 2 Stonechat on the wader scrape. Flock of 15 Siskin on the south route. Bearded Tit called p.m.

4 January 2024

16 Water Rail on site. Flock of 20 Siskin on the south route. 1 Water Pipit on the marsh. 4 Song Thrush around site.

3 January 2024

Small flock of siskin on the south route. A Woodcock flew off north from the car park.

2 January 2024

Water Pipit and Stonechats on the marsh. Peregrine and Bittern on the main lake. Also a flock of 30 Siskin.

1 January 2024

2 female and 1 male Pintail on the reservoir lagoon. Water Rails calling from the reedbeds all over the site. 1 Stonechat on the marsh.

31 December 2023

Goldeneye on the main lake. Siskin in the trees by the entrance lakes. 2 Water Rail fighting in the far west corner of the reservoir lagoon.

30 December 2023

1 Bittern on the reservoir lagoon. 2 Stonechat on the wader scrape. 2 Shelduck on the main lake. 97 Shoveler on site.

29 December 2023

Goldeneye on the main lake. Peregrine and Kestrel on site.

Pair of Shelduck on the main lake along with a large flock of Lapwing.

Bittern and Shelducks on main lake, and increase in Shoveler numbers

2 White Fronted Geese on the main lake.
