Clouded yellows & migrant hawkers
With daytime temps still in the high teens, on sunny breaks we are seeing migrant hawker dragonflies and common darter dragonflies come out. Checking our Black Rabbit triangle area we spotted a pair of clouded yellow butterflies on Monday!
The digger and pumps between the Ramsar and Sand martin hide are noisy some days but the exposed mud from the Arundel Lagoon project has attracted a green sandpiper and will likely bring in more birds in the mornings. You can read more on the project HERE.
Good numbers of gadwall and shoveller onsite and green woodpeckers are n the old Tundra pen most afternoons, enjoying the access to ants the newly cropped vegetation gives them.
