Downy Duckling Days in April

Experience close encounters of the duckling kind at WWT Arundel Wetland Centre this April! Hand feed Indian runner ducklings in the Ducky Delights room in the visitors centre. Outside visit the wild mallard ducklings and the fluffy grey goslings of the nene geese. “We have had seven Hawaiian nene goslings hatch here in March’’ said Grounds Manager Paul Stevens “many more than in previous years at Arundel.”

The popular Downy Duckling Days event returns from April 9 to 27. Go pond dipping or try your hand at some cracking crafts daily in The Holt roundhouse. During the Easter week families can also ‘Hunt for the Golden Eggs’ and solve clues to win tickets to the centre and other prizes!

At Arundel Wetland Centre visitors can also hand feed waterfowl from around the world, watch the Diving Ducks feed and take a free Wetland Discovery Boat Safari. On the weekends a ‘Guide in the Hide’ will help visitors to identify species using scopes, binoculars and expert knowledge from a bird hide. All these activities are free when you pay regular admission to the centre.
