First Pink-footed Geese arrival

Always a red letter day at the WWT with the first Pink-footed Geese of the autumn. Just five birds joining the the mixed feral Greylag and Canada Geese on the Mere this afternoon. Interesting to see if we get many more in the next day or two, although the forecast suggest a bigger potential arrival from midweek onwards.

Plenty of Chiffchaff on site and Blackcaps. Keep an eye out for the Long-tailed Tit flock to connect with these.
