Foggy dawn, sunny day.

Once the fog cleared from the site we were left with a day of sunshine.

Zeiss Hide

Snipe flocks were feeding in the cut rush, image below was taken this morning. Yesterday Water Rail and Cetti's Warbler also showing well here.

Van de Bovenkamp Hide

At least two Bitterns in the vicinity and showing well at times. Snipe flocks are feeding in the cut rush areas. Yesterday the field to the east (Tin Shed field) was busy with Greylag Geese, Lapwing and a few Dunlin.

Kingfisher Hide

The two Little Grebe, a flock of Gadwall and a few Mallard and Teal were in the channel. The 159 E. White-fronted Geese fed and loafed in the wheat field.

Rushy Pen

The best place to see Bewick's Swans (147) and variety of duck species. The Little Stint continues to appear daily.

South Lake

The wader scrape was frozen first thing but thawed by the afternoon to allow the dabbling duck to feed. A couple of Black-tailed Godwit and a Redshank roosted on one of the islands. All of our wintering duck species were present over lunchtime.

Tack Piece

Some of the Cranes were seen displaying here today.
