Goldcrest, Bullfinch and Otters
Well the otters are still popping into and out of the Whooper pond on a regular basis so please keep your eyes peeled for them. The small bird activity down the Saltcot Loaning and Avenue has been really good recently with lovely views of Goldcrest, Bulfinch, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting and Long-tailed tits. Whooper Swan numbers have crept over the hundred mark today because of the cold weather. During the daily Barnie count yesterday there were over 9,000 birds visible from the Farmhouse Tower, including one of the hybrids and one of the leucistic birds.
If you are visiting today please bear in mind that we have had a significant amount of rainfall in the past week and wellington boots are recommended.
