Green-winged Teal

It was only a matter of time before a Green-winged Teal turned up with Eurasian Teal. Although there is no science to back this statement up, we think that if you get over 3000 Teal then there is a good chance of the Green-winged Teal being present, based on one year when we had 10,000 Teal and 3 drake Green-winged among them.

At the time of writing the bird was present on Vinson's Marsh viewed from the Ron Barker Hide.

Keep an eye out for a darvic ringed Whooper Swan with VJA on it's left leg. This female is at least 26 years old and is now the oldest Whooper Swan to visit the reserve. It was missing last year but has just been spotted today, amazing.
