Happy birthday Your Majesty
WWT supporters joined our Patron, Her Majesty the Queen, for an official birthday lunch in the Mall with supporters of all the charities who benefit from her support.
At WWT we love a bit of wet weather so we were well prepared for the rain over lunch itself. But the clouds cleared as first Prince Harry stopped by to say hello, then the rest of the Royal Family culminating in the Queen herself gliding down the Mall in the open topped state review vehicle, or "Queen-mobile".
Her Majesty told the lunchgoers:
"I hope these happy celebrations will remind us of the many benefits that can flow when people come together for a common purpose as families, friends or neighbours."
WWT's Deputy Head of Fundraising, James Byron said:
"Despite the rain it was a fantastic event which celebrated all the Queen has done for the 600 charities she is patron of, few of which can claim as long standing and personal connection as WWT.
"What felt so special was knowing that there were WWT volunteers helping to make the celebration and our own Ellie Wise holding our sign in the parade. From long standing staff members to funders who between them have given millions of pounds towards our work over many years it was a real joy to celebrate this moment in history together alongside other charities that share our values."
