Kingfishers and Goldcrests

Kingfishers can still be seen fishing at the Ramsar hide- we also see them at the Scrape hide and on the Arun Riverlife Lagoon as the birds make a circuit around the site to feed. The times and locations are not predictable,
.

Visitors are reporting goldcrest, fiercest and tree creeper sightings around the hedgerows and in the Woodland Loop. This goldcrest photo is from visitor Mike Jerome. On the feeders there blue tits and great tits can be seen. Chiff chaffs are around the site as well.

Marsh harriers are roosting in our reedbeds again with sightings most late afternoons. Lapwing are flocking up islands of large lagoon between Ramsar and Sand martin hides.

Reedbed Willow Sphere: 1 chiff chaff, 44 mallards, 1 cormorant flyover, 3 black-headed gulls

Arun Riverlife: 1 kingfisher

Scrape hide: 1 kingfisher, 1 shelduck

Rams and Sand martin hides: 1 little egret, 3 shelducks

Pelican Cove: 1 pochard

Large lagoon Ramsar & Sand Martin hide: 36 Canada geese, 38 mallards, 29 lapwings, 17 shoveler, 4 cormorants, 1 little egret, 3 coots, 2 moorhens, 21 teal, 8 black-headed gulls, 1 grey heron, 1 kingfisher, 8 gadwall, 1 shelduck.

Scrape hide: 1 shelduck

Arun Riverlife lagoon: 5 pochard, 1 kingfisher, 1 little egret, 1 sparrowhawk.

Pelican Cove: 1 pochard

Wetland Discovery: 2 mute swans, 2 gadwall, 4 coots, 2 Canada geese, 13 jackdaws, 6 mallards, 4 black-headed gulls, 1 redwing, 2 wood pigeons, 1 blackbird, 1 robin, 1 Cettis Warbler

Ramsar and sand Martin hide: 1 great white egret, 1 little egret, 3 wigeon, 1 snipe, 80 lapwing, 2 shelducks, 1 pochard, 1 pintail, 1 kingfisher.

Arun Riverlife lagoon: 3 pochards, 1 kingfisher

Pelican Cove: 1 pochard

Reedbed: 8 marsh harriers counted.
