The autumn migration is in full flow now with a recent dawn count recording 3,500 pink footed geese roosting on the reserve. Most of these birds leave to feed off the reserve during the day but flocks can be seen feeding on Sunley's and Lord's Mere marsh from Ron Barker hide.
Alongside the pink feet, Ron Barker is the place to be with marsh harrier, hobby, peregrine and barn owl recently recorded as well as ruff, black tailed godwit and the ever reliable kingfisher.
Our 5 resident cattle egrets have been joined 6th individual and these are best seen again from Ron Barker or on the mere.
