Half of our herd of English Longhorn cattle have been moved onto the mere this week, and some cattle egrets have moved with them! The rest can still be seen at woodend marsh. A common tern was seen opposite Discovery hide, and plenty of swallows and swifts can still be seen about.

Also at woodend marsh common sandpiper, wood sandpiper, 5 green sandpipers, curlew, 97 black-tailed godwits, and a knot have all been seen this week. Tomlinson hide can provide a lovely up close view of our avocets. Plenty of young birds can still be seen about, including juvenile shelducks, coots, and moorhens visible from our cafe.
