We have been open until 5pm down to the Harrier hide for the Starling murmuration from Saturday 2nd Nov. They are changing every evening and sometimes are in one large flock and somtimes in 3 groups. Sometimes they are over the mere and going down in the Wetland treatment system reedbed on the right side of the Mere. Othertimes they are going down in the reedbed to the left of the Harrier hide. We have found the best places to stand are either in front of harrier hide to see them flying over head or standing on the bankng behind the Rees hide to watch the swirling from a distance. Sunday night and Wednesday there was light drizzle so the Starlings went straight down and didnt do much of a murmuration. Keep an eye on the website banner for updates to when we are going to stay late.
