A foggy start to the day but the fog cleared in the afternoon and its a really wintery scene on the mere with hundreds of Whooper swans and various ducks and geese waiting for the 3pm feed.

3 Russian white-fronted geese flew in to the back of the mere on the 13th Nov and then were seen at Ron Barker on the 14th Nov. 2 adults and 1 juvenile.

The numbers of ruff are increasing and now 16 are coming to the feeds to pick up the grain. Also 25 Black-tailed godwits.

The snow goose flew in on the 14th and is on the Mere on the long thin island we asssume it is the same bird that also frequents Marshside and is often seen at either site.
