Latest Sightings

Packed in tight. These Pink-footed Geese are regularly coming in onto the Mere from ~ 4pm

No specific counts but undoubtedly 10000+ Pink-footed Geese are roosting on the reserve with birds coming and going throughout the day. Small numbers of Whooper Swan present.

Five different Marsh Harrier on the reserve today, 4+ Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk.

An increase in Black-tailed Godwit with 25+ today, 300+ Lapwing, 10+ Ruff, Green Sandpiper, 2 Redshank and 30+ Snipe. A Carrion Crow was seen to dive into the undergrowth and take out a Snipe.

A Wheatear was on the banking of the recently worked channel on Plover Field.
