Latest sightings

Lots of duck nests on the reserve which should hatch soon, we have pochard, tufted ducks, shovelers and Shelduck. The avocets are still sitting on the mere and due to hatch soon there are still 23 nests.

On woodend marsh there are a pair of Garganey (stockphoto), ringed plovers, dunlin, ruff and lapwings chicks.

Lots of black-headed gull chicks on the mere. 3 pairs of common terns.

Some of the tree sparrows along the nature trail have fledged and the pairs are looking to nest again.

Lots of flowers on the reserve including yellow rattle, cuckoo flowers and red campion.
