Latest Sightings

On Tuesday a ruddy shelduck was spotted on the Mere, most likely an escapee. Also on the Mere there are currently plenty of gadwall, shoveler, tufted duck and pochard.

The recent warm weather has meant plenty of chicks and ducklings are emerging. There have been fledgling robins, blue tits, great tits and tree sparrows along with swallows waiting to be fed by their parents on branches over the boat house sluice. There are also shelduck, pochard and shoveler ducklings as well as avocet chicks.
