Little Egret Making an Appearance
We had three Little Egret fishing around Whopper Pond this morning. They were joined there by the Little Ringed Plover, and demonstrating that Autumn migration for waders is truly commencing, a flypast by 16 Curlews. Flocks of Linnet are being seen more regularly from Saltcot Merse Observatory, feeding on the seed heads of plants down there. Keep your eyes peeled for the juvenile Goldfinches hanging around the paddock area.
