Little Gull and other birds

Little Gull with two Black-headed Gulls on the Mere

A pleasant day, 'goldilock' temperatures. Lots of evidence of breeding activity across the reserve with excellent views of Black-headed Gull and Avocet chicks.

The second calendar Little Gull is still present roving between the Mere and in front of the Ron Barker Hide.

Great views of Sedge Warbler along the Reed Bed Walk from the recently opened path from the Harrier Hide.

Raptors present included Common Buzzards, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Just off the reserve 2 Yellow Wagtail on Curlew Lane.

It should be possible to see 50+ species of bird without to much difficulty. If you do see anything do call in at the in focus shop next to the Discovery Hide.

See previous days sightings.
