Meet Nick, our new Centre Manager
Nick Brooks has now started at Martin Mere as our new Centre Manager.
Nick lives in Burscough but with his last job he was commuting to Sussex as the Area Manager for RSPB Sussex reserves, so he has a very good background and knowledge of managing a reserve.
In his past life he was also Lancashire Properties Manager for National Trust which gives him a unique blend of having the tourism and conservation knowledge which is required as part of this role.
Nick loves birdwatching and has collated a life-time list of over 2000 birds and his favourite duck is the white headed duck.
An interesting fact about Nick: Nick first visited Slimbridge on his 10th birthday when he saw his first white fronted goose. His second visit to Slimbridge was the second interview for this position and that was on his 49th birthday!
Nick will be available to meet and talk to visitors when he does a behind the scenes experience at 2pm on Wednesday 19 June.
