Monday sightings

Rushy Hide

Early morning sightings included 2 Pintail, 3 Wigeon, 40 Teal, 2 Snipe, a Redshank and the Little Grebe.

Tack Piece

15 Yellow Wagtail were among the cattle but flew off toward the TNP. Two juvenile Ruff, two Avocet and three Spotted Redshank were also present but the latter also moved to the TNP.

Holden Tower

Reed Buntings and Blackcaps in the hedge.

Middle Point

A flock of c60 Curlew commuting between the Dumbles to feed and the estuary to roost. A juvenile Turnstone was on the rocks off the point. A flock of over 100 Dunlin, 2 Sanderling and 19 Ringed Plover included a leucistic individual, probably the same that was here last autumn.

South Lake

Avocet, Five Ruff, 28 Redshank, 83 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 12 Gadwall, 53 Tufted Duck, 30 Shoveler, 40 Teal, 27 Pied Wagtail, 2 Jay in the oaks, drake Mandarin on deep lake with two Great Crested Grebe.

Zeiss Hide/Top (TNP) and Bottom New Piece

Garganey, 55 Wigeon, 20 Pintail, 585 Teal, 34 Gadeall, 20 Shoveler, 210 Lapwing, 21 Ruff, 5 Yellow Wagtail, Reed Warbler and Buzzard.
