Murky Thursday
The weather has been rather miserable for a few days now, but at least today looks as though it'll stay dry is just grey and overcast. University of Bristol joined us for a dawn chorus walk this morning with several species singing despite the murk. They included several Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap plus a couple of Sedge Warbler and Cetti's Warbler.
South Lake Hides
At least 4 Mediterranean Gulls were outside the Discovery Hide this morning, 2 second summers and 2 adults. Also here were a pair of Oystercatcher. Around 300 Black-tailed Godwit were present first thing before moving off to the Top New Piece for the day, as viewed from the Zeiss Hide. A small flock of hirundines spent most of the morning, mainly made up of Swallow and Sand Martin but also a House Martin amongst them.
