New Bird Observatory opens at Martin Mere
Martin Mere is excited to announce the new opening of the Bird Observatory.
Martin Mere is excited to announce the new opening of the Bird Observatory. The building, which is located to the left of the Discover Hide, will now be utilised as an all-in-one stop for visitors to find out more information about latest sightings, to report sightings, and to speak to our reserve team about any news on the reserve.
The opening of the Bird Observatory comes soon after the opening of the two new hides, Reese Hide and Tomlinson Hide, and is hoped to be a place for keen birders and beginners alike to find out more about the different species we see throughout the seasons at Martin Mere.
Louise Clewley, Reserve Manager at Martin Mere, said: “We’re pleased to open the new Bird Observatory and have a central place for visitors to come and speak to our team to find out more about the exciting things you can see on the reserve.
“Being located next to the Discovery Hide, it’s the perfect place to get any updates before heading off to your favourite hides. It also offers a fantastic view of the mere whilst you’re speaking to us!”
The Bird Observatory will be open every day, 11am until 3pm in summer and 11am until 2pm in winter.
